MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 23, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced two new IGBT and MOSFET drivers in compact, high-isolation SO-6 extended-range packages. Vishay Semiconductors’ VOFD341A and VOFD343A deliver high peak output currents of 3 A and 4 A, respectively, at operating temperatures up to 125°C and propagation delays as low as 200 ns (max).
The optocoupler announced today consists of an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage and is suitable for solar inverters and microinverters of AC and brushless DC, as well as the inverter stage for AC/DC conversion in UPS; These devices are ideal for direct-drive IGBTs rated up to 1200V/100A.
The high operating temperatures of the VOFD341A and VOFD343A provide greater thermal safety margins for more compact designs, and their high peak output current eliminates the need for additional driver stages, enabling faster switching. The low propagation delay of these devices minimizes switching losses while providing more precise PWM regulation.
The high-isolation optocoupler package provides a high working voltage of up to 1.140 V, which allows the use of high-voltage inverter stages while maintaining sufficient voltage safety margin. RoHS-compliant devices have a high noise immunity of 50 kV/μs, which prevents functional failures in high-speed power stages.
Samples and production quantities of VOFD341A and VOFD343A are available now with a six-week lead time.
